The Script
A scientific writing system born in the hills of Arunachal Pradesh — crafted for the Tani voice.
WHAT IS TANILIPI?
A Script Engineered for a Language
Tanilipi is an alphabetic writing system of 26 letters — 8 vowels and 18 consonants — written left to right. Unlike borrowed scripts, every letter was designed from the ground up to capture the exact phonetics of Tani speech: the tones, the breath, the sounds that make these languages sing.

WHY IT MATTERS
Against the Silence
For generations, Tani languages lived only in memory — sung by elders, told by firelight, never written down. In an age of dominant languages, oral traditions face extinction within a generation.
Tanilipi changes this equation. A child can now read her grandmother’s stories. A poet can publish in his mother tongue. A community can teach its language in classrooms — because it finally has letters to teach with.
The 13 lakh Tani speakers of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam see Tanilipi as more than a script — it is identity, pride, and survival.
